Violence against women
Social Services is responsible for providing support to women who have been the victims of violence or who live in violent relationships.
You can get help and support from social workers in the adult division of Individual and Family Social Care.
You can also ring for advice without having to give your name.
An appointment is needed to see a social worker in person.
The social work team is available to speak to by phone on weekdays, 8.30 am–9.30 am. Ring 0248-70 220.
At other times, please contact Social Services reception on 0248-70 220.
Our team includes a social worker and an officer supporting people with disabilities who have specific responsibility for these issues.

Kvinnofridslinjen helpline 020-50 50 50
Kvinnofridslinjen is a national helpline for women subjected to threats or violence.
We also welcome calls from relatives and friends of victims.
The line is open 24 hours a day and calls are free from any part of the country.
Your call will not appear on your phone bill.

Terrafem - nätverk för kvinnors rätt mot mäns våld
Terrafem is a non-profit organisation that works for the right of women of all ages to live in a society without the violence and abuse of men.
Terrafem run Sweden's only national helpline for immigrant women of all ages. The helpline (020-52 10 10) offers support in 43 languages.
Terrafem's gives also legal advice and offer woman shelter, a shelter for girls and apartments with daily support.

Unizon – Unizon represents over 130 Swedish women’s shelters, young women’s empowerment centres and other support services which work together for a gender equal society free from violence. Under ‘Near you’, you can select the county and get phone numbers for women’s support services in Dalarna.
